    Abstract
Indonesian tourism has the potential to be a source of state income, but activities in tourism have the impact of increasing the amount of waste in Indonesia. Sustainable tourism development is a principle that will be achieved in the SDGs (sustainable development goals) and global action plans from 2016 to 2030 in order to maximize the positive impacts and minimize the negative impacts of tourism activities. This study conducted a test in two tourist areas on Lake Toba. As an international standard tourist area and a natural lake tourism area and included in the National Tourism Strategy Area (KSPN), namely Batu Hoda Beach and Sibolahotang Beach. This study uses an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) DJI Mavic 2. Drones are used to capture photos of tourist sites which aim to determine the amount of waste, types of waste, waste composition (%), solid waste density (items/m2) and identify the most waste accumulation areas. height and produces a 5 x 5 meter grid size heatmap. UAV flight with a flying height of 50m from the take off point produces a photo resolution of 0.89 cm/pixel at Batu Hoda Beach and a UAV flight altitude of 25m from the take off point produces a photo resolution of 0.44 cm/pixel at Sibolahotang Beach. garbage is almost 16 times faster at Batu Hoda Beach and almost 5 times faster at Sibolahotang Beach when compared to direct observation. In addition to the comparison of time, 11 items of UAV photo waste were obtained at Batu Hoda Beach which was dominated by plastic waste by 54.5%, and at Sibolahotang Beach as many as 2624 items which were dominated by plastic waste as well as 93.3%. The cleanliness index of Batu Hoda Beach from aerial photos is 5, which is very clean with a waste density of 0.00061 items/m2 and the cleanliness index of Sibolahotang Beach from aerial photos is 3.02, which is moderate with a waste density of 0.80236 items/m2. The use of UAV is effectively used for mapping the distribution of waste in coastal tourism.
