    Uji Variasi Ukuran Pisau Alat Pemotong Kentang dan Kondisi Bahan

    Abstract
    Potato is one type of horticultural plant that can be consumed by its tubers and has a very high carbohydrate content. This study aims to obtain the right blade size and perform parameters by calculating the effective cutting capacity (kg/hour), the percentage of material that is not perfectly cut (%), and the percentage of material left in the potato cutter (%). from December to completion at the Biosystem Engineering Laboratory, Agricultural Engineering and Biosystems, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, Medan, using a non-factorial completely randomized design method. The parameters observed were the effective cutting capacity, the percentage of material that was not completely cut and the percentage of material left on the tool. The results showed that the largest effective cutting capacity was 217.46 kg/hour and the smallest was 212.83 kg/hour with the largest percentage of materials that were not perfectly cut at 23.33%, and the smallest 20.67%, and the percentage of materials that were not cut perfectly. which is left behind in the largest tool by 5.67% and the smallest by 3.33%
     
    Kentang merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman hortikultura yang dapat dikonsumsi umbinya dan memiliki kandungan karbohidrat yang sangat tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk memperoleh ukuran mata pisau yang tepat serta melakuan parameter dengan menghitung kapasitas efektif pemotongan (kg/jam), presentase bahan tidak terpotong sempurna (%), dan presentase bahan tertinggal pada alat ( %) pemotong kentang.Penelitian ini laksanakan pada bulanDesember sampai dengan selesai di Laboratorium Teknik Biosistem, Teknik Pertanian dan BiosistemFakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan.Dalam penelitian ini, penggunaan metode rancangan ialah RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap) non-faktorial serta melakukan pengamatan pada parameter diantaranya kapasitas efektif pemotongan, persentase bahan tidak sempurna serta persentase bahan yang tertinggal pada alat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kapasitas efektif pemotongan terbesar sebesar 217,46 kg/jam dan yang terkecil sebesar 212,83 kg/jam dengan persentase bahan yang tidak terpotong sempurna tebesar sebesar 23,33%, dan dan yang terkecil 20,67%, dan persentase bahan yang tertinggal pada alat terbesar sebesar 5,67% dan yang terkecil sebesar 3,33 %.
