dc.description.abstract | Performance of tuna fishbone waste as carbon to remove iron (Fe) metal from well water was studied. The parameters of carbon synthesis were set by varying the carbonization temperature of 300o, 400o and 500oC. Fishbone carbon was characterized using SEM-EDX, XRD, and SSA (nitrogen adsorption). The BET and BJH analysis showed that the increase in carbon surface area and pore size was proportional to the increase in carbonization temperature. There is a decrease in carbon composition and an increase of the hydroxyapatite peak of fishbone carbon when the carbonization temperature increased. Fishbone carbon was used as filtration medium to reduce high levels of iron metal in well water. Samples were taken from wells belonging to residents in Bandar Setia, Medan Tembung. Fishbone carbon was effective as an addsorbent for removing iron metal from well water by the filtration method. The rate of iron removal was 99% for fishbone carbon, carbonized at 400oC. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Kemampuan limbah tulang ikan tuna sebagai karbon untuk menurunkan konsentrasi logam Fe dalam air sumur telah diteliti. Parameter sintesis karbon dilakukan dengan variasi suhu karbonisasi 300o, 400o dan 500oC. Karbon tulang ikan dikarakterisasi menggunakan SEM-EDX, XRD, dan SSA (adsorpsi gas nitrogen). Analisis BET dan BJH menunjukkan peningkatan luas permukaan karbon dan ukuran pori sebanding dengan peningkatan suhu karbonisasi. Terjadi penurunan konsentrasi karbon dan peningkatan fase kristal hidroksiapatit saat suhu karbonisasi ditingkatkan. Karbon tulang ikan digunakan sebagai media filtrasi air sumur untuk menurunkan konsentrasi logam besi yang tinggi. Air sumur diambil dari perumahan warga di daerah Bandar Setia, Medan Tembung. Karbon tulang ikan efektif untuk menurunkan konsentrasi logam besi (Fe) dalam air sumur. Pengurangan konsentrasi besi sebesar 99% untuk karbon tulang ikan yang dikarbonisasi pada suhu 400oC. | en_US |
