    Abstract
    Phosphate is one of the nutrients that poses a threat (water pollution, eutrophication phenomena, and mass death of aquatic biota) for waters, especially those that are a source of drinking water, agriculture, and other purposes. This phosphate is produced from liquid waste from various activities that are disposed of without processing. The research was conducted to treat synthetic wastewater containing phosphate by electrocoagulation method using aluminum (Al) electrodes carried out with various voltages (10, 20, and 30 volts) and electrode spacing (5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 mm) during 120 minutes with sampling every 15 minutes interval. These variations are then analyzed to see their effect on the efficiency of phosphate removal in synthetic wastewater. After being analyzed, it was found that time, voltage, and electrode distance had an effect on the efficiency of phosphate removal. The data from the electrocoagulation process were then analyzed to determine the appropriate adsorption isotherm and kinetic model. It has been obtained from the analysis carried out that this electrocoagulation process follows the adsorption kinetics of the pseudo second order model and the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model
     
    Fosfat merupakan salah satu zat hara yang menjadi ancaman (pencemaran air, fenomena eutrofikasi, dan kematian massal biota air) untuk perairan, khususnya yang menjadi sumber air minum, pertanian, dan keperluan lainnya. Fosfat ini dihasilkan dari limbah cair berbagai kegiatan yang dibuang tanpa proses pengolahan. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengolah limbah cair sintetis yang mengandung fosfat dengan metode elektrokoagulasi menggunakan elektroda aluminium (Al) yang dilakukan dengan, variasi tegangan (10, 20, dan 30 volt) dan jarak elektroda (5, 10, 15, 20 dan 30 mm) selama 120 menit dengan pengambilan sampel setiap interval 15 menit. Variasi tersebut kemudian dianalisis untuk melihat pengaruhnya terhadap besaran efisiensi penghilangan fosfat dalam limbah cair sintetis. Setelah dianalisis, diperoleh bahwa waktu, tegangan listrik, dan jarak elektroda berpengaruh terhadap efisiensi penghilangan fosfat. Data hasil proses elektrokoagulasi selanjutnya dianalisis untuk mengetahui model kinetika dan isoterm adorpsi yang sesuai. Telah didapat dari analisis yang dilakukan bahwa proses elektrokoagulasi ini mengikuti kinetika adsorpsi model pseudo orde kedua dan model isoterm adsorpsi Langmuir
