dc.description.abstractThis thesis deals with use swear words for RS’s case in Twitter. There are three problems which are discussed in this thesis,(1) to find out types of swear word used in the RS’s case in Twitter (2) to describe how swear word is realized in meaning contextually and (3) to explain the reason use of swear word. The data used in this research are 117 tweet and found 122 swear words from the tweet. There were expletive swear word is obtained 54swear word (44%) divided into 8 words, 37 phrases, 7 clauses and 2 sentences. Abusive swear word has 40 swear word (33%) divided into 2 words, 15 phrases, 19 clauses, 4 sentences. Then, humorous swear word got 7 swear words (6%) and in count it 1 phrase, 4 clauses and 2 sentences, for last auxiliary swear word got 21 swear words (17%) and it into 3 words, 14 phrases, 3 clauses, and 1 sentence. Then, for another supporting data of type swear word by Michael Swan theory as much 71 swear word (58%) were dominated by strong swear words in the form of 6 words, 48 phrases, 13 clauses and 4 sentences. Followed as much 51 swear words (33%) were placed on weak swear words in the form of 5 words, 23 phrases, 15 clauses, 8 sentences clauses from the tweet consist of swear word to be analysed in the twitter. In realization of meaning contextually, the researcher use motive of swear words for supporting explanation of the context. There were three motives and it found psychological motive is the most motive has used by twitter’s user. The researcher also found the reason why swear words are used in RS’s case in twitter. Questionnaire by bit.ly link has used to find out the reasons use swear words related to the RS’ case. as many 107 respondents were obtained. The reason of the respondents use swear word consist 69% to express feeling, 27% to indicate intimacy relationship, and 4% just follow the trends. For the next reason use swear word in RS’s case as many82 % respondents chose express their feeling by use swear words to RS, 11 % respondents chose to provoke RS, 4% to make description about RS and 3% use to get attention from RS.en_US
