Sekolah yang umum di Indonesia merupakan sekolah konvensional guru dan siswa
melakukan kegiatan yang dikenal dengan aktivitas belajar mengajar, sebenarnya sekolah
bukan hanya tempat dimana siswa diberikan begitu banyak informasi, tetapi juga terlatih
dalam pola pikir dan sikap. Saat ini telah muncul green school yang memanfaatkan
lingkungan sebagai ruang belajar, alat peraga dan perlengkapan belajar serta objek
pembelajaran yang dapat memanfaatkan alam dan melestarikan Lingkungan untuk
kehidupan. Namun kenyataannya jumlah green school atau sekolah sejenisnya di kota
Medan masih sedikit. Perancangan green school menggunakan pendekatan metodologis
untuk pemecahan masalah, berfokus pada pemecahan masalah yang ada, dimulai pada tahap
konstruksi data, pengumpulan, dan analisis, dan diakhiri dengan sintesis menggunakan
teknik survei, tinjauan pustaka, dan penelitian komparatif. Diharapkan dengan merancang
green school di kota Medan, siswa memilki karakter positif dan keterampilan akan dilatih
dengan pendekatan desain arsitektur ekologis, di mana bangunan sekolah dapat menjaga
lingkungan yang berkelanjutan Public schools in Indonesia are conventional schools where teachers and students
carry out activities known as teaching and learning activities, in fact schools are not only
places where students are given a lot of information, but are also trained in mindsets and
attitudes. Currently, a green school has emerged that utilizes the environment as a learning
space, teaching aids and learning equipment as well as learning objects that can take
advantage of nature and preserve the environment for life. However, in reality the number
of green schools or similar schools in the city of Medan is still small. Green school design
uses a methodological approach to problem solving, focuses on solving existing problems,
starting at the data construction, collection, and analysis stages, and ends with a synthesis
using survey techniques, literature review, and comparative research. It is hoped that by
designing a green school in the city of Medan, students who have positive characters and
skills will be trained with an ecological architectural design approach, where school
buildings can maintain a sustainable environment.
