The change of culture from traditional to modem society has impacted to women
ingetting their career. The other hand, some people views working women as
against her natue and obligation as a woman. The difference in this paradigm
forces women in to fear of success. The purpose of this study was to determine the
influence of competitive work siflration and family social support toward fear of
success among female employees. The study involved 106 marketing staffs at
Finance company and data was collected through scales of competitive work
situatiorl family social suppon and fear of success. The results of multiple
regtession analysis showed that competitive work situation and family social
support influenced significantly toward fear of success among female employees.
The competitive work situation and the family social support contributed in
decreasing fear of success. The implication of this researchis expected that
organi21i66 to create an organizational environment that triggers workers to
achieve more by providing feedback, couching and counseling to decrease fear of
success among female employees. Pergesaran budaya dari masyarakat tradisional ke masyarakat modern berdampak
pula pada terbukanya kesempatan wanita untuk berkarir di luar rumah. Namun,
disisi lain sebagian masyarakat memandang wanita yang beke{a menyalahi
kodratnya. Perbedaan paradigura ini membuat wanita mengalami fear of success.
Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh situasi kompetisi ke{a dan
dukungan sosial keluarga terhadap -fear of success pada karyawati marketing.
Penelitian ini melibatkan 106 karyawati Marketing di Finance. Data diperoleh
melalaui tiga skala yaitu skala situasi kompetisi kerja skala dukungan sosial
keluarga serta skala fear of success. Hasil analisis berganda menunjukan bahwa
situasi kompetisi kerja dan dukungan sosial keluarga berpengaruhterhadap fear of
success karyawati Marketing di Finance. Situasi kompetisi ke{a dan dukungan
sosial keluarga memberikan kontribusi untuk menunrnkan fear of success.
Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah diharapkan organisasi dapat menciptakan
iklim organisasi yang dapat memacu para karyawati rntuk lebih berprestasi
dengan cara memberikan le dback, coacing dan counseling untuk menurunkan
fear of success karyawati marketing.
