Inventory has a big impact on company performance. Improper inventory management can result in high total inventory cost. PT. XYZ is a fertilizer distributor company that distributes 16 types of fertilizer to consumers in Karo Regency, North Sumatra. Inventory system of fertilizers at PT. Fajar Fixed Jaya so far does not have an inventory control method, but is only based on the result of stock checking in the warehouse and past experience. This causes purchases to be made continuously in small quantities, resulting in increased ordering costs. The purpose of this study is to minimize inventory costs at PT. XYZ using the Economic Order Quantity method and Wagner Within Algorithm method. The results of the calculation of the total inventory cost of fertilizer in actual condition, with the Economic Order Quantity method, and with the Wagner Within Algorithm method are Rp. 230,486,180, Rp. 175,695,472, and Rp. 174,839,548. The results show that the Wagner Within Algorithm method produces the most optimal total inventory cost and saves costs of Rp. 55,646,632 or 24.14%.en_US
