The data obtained from Kuta Alam Puskesmas (Public Health Center), Banda Aceh, in 2011, indicated that there were 93 IMS patients, and it increased to 270 IMS patients in 2012.
The type of the research was observational with cross sectional design which was aimed to know the relationship of the service of IMS clinic. The research was conducted in the working area of Kuta Alam Puskesmas, Banda Aceh. The samples consisted of 63 respondents, using consecutive sampling technique. The data were analyzed by using univatriate analyisis, bivatriate analysis with chi square test, and multivatriate analysis with multiple logistic regression tests.
The result of the research with logistic regression test showed that the variables which relation the prevention and the handling of IMS were KIE service (p=0.002), Health workers (p=0.048), and the awareness/interest of the community (p=0.003). The variables which were dominantly correlated with the prevention and the handling of IMS were the awareness/interest of the community (Exp B=8.714), health workers (Exp B=0.246), and KIE service (Exp B=0.084).
