Liquid waste from plantations and livestock can cause environmental
pollution so it is necessary to take further action to overcome this pollution.
Liquid waste from sugarcane plantations and cattle ranches can be managed as a
producer of electrical energy by using a microbial fuel cell (MFC). MFC is a
bioelectrochemical system that converts chemical energy into electrical energy
catalytically using microorganisms. This study aims to obtain the best voltage,
current, solution resistance, power, power density and electrical energy. This
research was conducted using an experimental method and a non-factorial
completely randomized design with 5 treatments. The results showed that the
highest electric voltage was 3.045 V with no load and 2.413 V with no load. The
highest current strength was 13.2225 mA no load and 0.1106 mA load. The
highest solution resistance was 4.697 Ohm and the circuit resistance was 815.94
Ohm. The highest electric power was 33.03 mW. The highest power density was
11,010.86 mW/m2. The highest electrical energy was 40,415.40 mWh.
