The development of education in the 4.0 era requires readiness to face challenges by increasing the ability of Human Resources through higher education. Students' interest in continuing their education to college needs to be known by parents, teachers, and students themselves to know and direct their choices. It is necessary to do a factor analysis that aims to find out what factors influence students' interest in continuing their education to higher education at SMA Negeri 1 Bangun Purba and find out how big the value of the relationship between the influencing factors is on interest. The variables of this research are motivation, sources of knowledge and information, environment and economy. The method used for data collection is a questionnaire with 100 respondents. Methods of analysis and data hypotheses with Spearman rank correlation analysis and Spearman rank significance test.
The results of this study indicate that motivational factors have a significant effect on student interest, this is evidenced by the acquisition of tcount 15,834 > ttable 1,9844. The factor of knowledge and information sources has no significant effect on student interest, it is proven that the tcount is 1.481 < ttable 1.9844. Environmental factors have no significant effect on student interest, this is evidenced by the acquisition of tcount 0.539 < ttable 1.9844. Economic factors have no significant effect on interest, this is evidenced by the value of tcount 0.0785 < ttable 1.9844.
