Pengaruh Nilai Indeks Pembangunan Manusia terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Kota Tebing Tinggi Menggunakan Korelasi Rank Spearman

Abstract

The human development index (HDI) is a value that describes the achievement of human success in efforts to have a better life. In the last few years, the human development index in Tebing Tinggi has increased, but there has been a decline in economic growth. Economic growth is a process that there is an increase in the productivity of goods and services in an area or country. The purpose of this study is to find out how the relationship between the human development index and economic growth in Tebing Tinggi city and provide an overview of the level of relationship between the HDI variables and economic growth. Researchers used Spearman rank correlation analysis in this study to determine the relationship between the two variables. Based on the results of data research that has been carried out, a correlation value of -0.76364 was obtained. This shows that the relationship between the human development index and economic growth in the city of Tebing Tinggi is strong and in the opposite direction. This means that every time the human development index increases, the economic growth in the city of Tebing Tinggi will decrease.
