The discussion in this paper focuses on the facial muscle movements of
pantomime of the leading character in the short film Bus Stop. In this paper,
the author aims to describe the movement of the pantomime facial muscle
movements found in the short film Bus Stop, to find out the meaning of facial
muscle movements performed by the leading character in this short film. And
also to find out which facial muscle movements of pantomime dominate in the
short film Bus Stop. The data is collected by the author from screenshots on
the short film Bus Stop. From this data, the author finds and describes the
meaning of the facial muscle movements of pantomime using a qualitative
descriptive method. The description in this paper is based on the theory
contained in Charles Aubert's book which mentions the types of facial muscle
movements of pantomime. Therefore, 6 types of pantomime facial muscle
movements have been found in the short film Bus Stop, namely the facial
muscle movements of pantomime of the cheeks, nose, jaw, eyebrows, lips and
eyes. And the facial muscle movements of pantomime that dominates in the
short film Bus Stop is the movement of the eyebrows. In writing this paper, the
writer found the lack of references about pantomime. The writer hopes that
people should learn and discuss more about pantomime, even write scientific
paper about it. So this paper will be one of the refence that can be used in
writing the next paper about pantomime.
