Analisis Multiplier Effect Usaha Kerajinan Dodol di Desa Bengkel Kecamatan Perbaungan
Abstract
The main purpose of this study was to find out and analyze the multiplier effect of dodol business at Desa Bengkel, Perbaungan Subdistrict.
The data for this study with descriptive analysis and income multiplier analysis methods were the primary data obtained through the questionnaire-based direct interviews with 86 respondents and the secondary data obtained from Serdang Bedagai District Central Bureau of Statistics, Serdang Bedagai District Planning and Development Board, and Serdang Bedagai District Small and Medium Business and Cooperatives Service.
The result of this study showed that the factors influencing the development of dodol business at Desa Bengkel, Perbaungan Subdistrict were that the product was not a primary need, the marketing process was not good yet, and the business management practiced was still family business-type that the business was not professionally managed. In terms of household income multiplier, the multiplier effect of this dodol business was 1.37. This means that, the income received from dodol business contributed 30% higher than that from selling other products. The dodol business significantly needed workforce, meaning this business provided job opportunity and income to the other community members that 48% of the total workforces working for dodol business came from outside of Desa Pasar Bengkel.
