Analisis Pengetahuan, Sikap dan Manajemen Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja dalam Pencegahan Infeksi Nosokomial pada Ruang Rawat Inap Bedah di RSUD Dr.Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh

Abstract

Nosochomial infection is a kind of infection obtained/experienced by patients during their being hospitalized in a hospital which was caused by the microorganism such as bacterium, virus, fungi and parasite but in general this infection was caused by virus and bacterium spread by the other patients, hospital employees, visitors or the hospital environment itself yet this infection was not suffered by the patients when they first entered the hospital. Dr. Zainoel Abidin General Hospital in Banda Aceh is the biggest hospital in the Province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalarn which has a program to prevent the incident of nosochomiul infection. The purpose of this survey study with cross-sectional approach is to analyze and describe the relationship between knowledge, attitude, and occupational health and safety management and the prevention of the incident of nosochomial injection in the nurses serving in the in-patient wards in dr. Zainoel Abidin General Hospital Banda Aceh. The population of this study was all of the 35 nurses comprising 22 nurses serving in the men in-patient wards and 13 nurses serving in the women inpatient wards and all of the 35 nurses were selected to he the samples for this study through total sampling technique. The primary data for this study were obtained through interviews and observation and the secondary data were collected from the notes and documents available in dr. Zainoet Abidin General Hospital in Banda Aceh. The result of this study shows that attempt to prevent the incident of nosochomial infection done by the nurses serving in dr. Zainoel Abidin General Hospital in Banda Aceh was still inadequate. The result of (chi-square test shows that there was a significant relationship between the nurses' knowledge and attitude and the prevention of the incident of nosochomial infection in dr. Zainoel Abidin General Hospital in Banda Aceh. Based on the hospital's occupational health and safety' management, it was found out that there was a relationship between control, promotion, investigation, and evaluation (p = 0. 004) and the prevention of the incident of nosochomial infection in dr. Zainoel Abidin General Hospital in Banda Aceh. The management of dr. Zainal Abidin General Hospital in Banda Aceh is suggested to improve the education and trainings on occupational health and safety management especially on the universal prevention of nosochomial infection for the nurses and to routinely control and evaluate the implementation of nursing care and the condition of the hospital environment as an attempt to prevent the incident of nosochomial infection in dr. Zainal Abidin General Hospital in Banda Aceh.
