| dc.description.abstract | A preliminary survey at CV. X Medan showed that welding workers at the
company suffer visual acuity disorders with symptoms such as eyes smarting,
irritation, light sensitivity, and blurring. These are caused by exposure to ultraviolet
radiation from welding activities.
The goal of this research was to analyze the influence of ultraviolet radiation,
the characteristics of worker and eye protector equipment (welding goggles) on
visual acuity. The following research used a cross sectional, with observation on one
of the welding industries in Medan with a total population of 32 welding workers and
the total sample of 32 welding workers. The statistical test were used multiple Linier
Regression
From 6 of independent variables observed founded 5 variables statistically
significant with p < 0.05, namely variable of ultraviolet radiation p : 0.042,
education p : 0.000, exposure duration p : 0.000, knowledge p : 0.008 and eye
protector equipment (welding goggles) p : 0.000. Based on Multiple Linear
Regression was known that exposure duration variable had more dominant influence
on visual acuity.
It is suggested to the owner of welding industries to control workers and to
provision suitable welding goggles, and for the workers suggested always use the
personal safety when they me working. | en_US |
