Patients' experience under hemodialysis therapy is very phenomenal and interesting for health professionals beoause the patients who are under hemodialysis therapy have a number of important problems as the effect of hemodialysis therapy. The objective of the research was to find out the experience of Batak Toba patients suffered from GGK (chronic kidney failure) under hemodialysis therapy. The research was a phenomenological descriptive study. The data were gathered by conducting in-depth interviews. The samples were 14 Batak Toba people as the respondents who had undergone hemodialysis therapy at least six months, taken by using purposive sampling technique. The interviews were conducted at their homes; the research contacted them and visited their homes. The result of the interviews was analyzed by using Collaizi method. It was found that there were four themes: the effect or complaint during the treatment, the attempts to cope with the complaint during the treatment, support received by the patients during the treatment, and obstacles faced by the patients during the treatment. It is recommended that nurses should pay attention to patients' socio cultural values in order to lessen patients' problems during the treatment.
