Partai Persatuan Pembangunan di Provinsi Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam 1973-1998

Abstract

After the establishment of PPP in the provincial area which was explained in the previous section, it was immediately based on instructions from the center to establish DPC-DPC in the Special Province of Aceh. The formation of the DPC (Branch Leadership Council) began in 1974. The reason for the establishment of DPC-DPCs in the districts / cities in Aceh was due to the slow pace of administrative matters. In 1974, the Branch Board of North Aceh, West Aceh, the Banda Aceh Municipality and the Sabang Municipal City were established. Two years later, in 1976 before the 1977 elections, several DPC offices were re-established. The DPC offices that were established were the Office of the East Aceh DPC, Central Aceh, Southeast Aceh, Langsa Municipality, and Aceh Tamiang. The task of each of these DPCs is to win PPP in the General Election which will be held in 1977. In the 1977 elections, PPP has not succeeded in establishing DPC offices throughout the districts / cities in Aceh. This is due to financial and administrative constraints. Although the 1977 General Election had not succeeded in establishing DPC offices throughout the districts / cities in Aceh, before the 1987 General Election, DPC offices were successfully established and were ready to welcome the 1987 elections in Aceh. This thesis study uses a theoretical and approach approach in pilitik science. For research methods, this thesis research uses historical methods. The initial stage in this study was to look for supporting data to various libraries and institutions that were considered to be a source of data in research, for example to the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta; PPP Archives in Aceh, National Library of the Republic of Indonesia, Aceh Library and Aceh Information and Documentation Center (PDIA) and USU Library. After the data is collected, the next step is to filter the data that has been obtained then to be analyzed and the last stage is the stage of writing the thesis. The research of this thesis explains how PPP parties can exist or survive despite facing the hegemony of government parties, namely Golkar. In this thesis, it is also understood how the campaign system, election results, PPP vision and party goals.
