Utilization of X-ray radiation at the hospital needs to pay attention to the
safety element as stated in Government Regulation No. 33 of 2007 on Ionizing
Radiation Safety and Security of Radioactive Sources stating that radiation safety
is the action taken to protect workers. the public, and the environment from
radiation hazards. Radiation workers should always obtain observations of the
radiation dose received by the leadership of the competent institution. Therefore,
radiation workers must act accordance with safety procedures.
The purpose of this study was to know influence of education. training,
knowledge, and attitudes of workers in the department of Radiology H. Adam
Malik existing workers especially in the Unit of Diagnostik Radiology and
Intervensional (catheterization) in 2014. This type of analytical study use cross-
sectional design. The experiment was conducted in August 2014. Population in
this study are 65 employees who work in the Diagnostik Radiology and
lntervensional, and the sample was 40 people. Data Analysis with Chi Square
and logistic regression.
The results showed no effect of education (p = 0.035) training (p = 0.044),
knowledge (p = 0.027) and attitude (p = 0.044) of the radiation safety measures
in H. Adam Malik Hospital Radiology. training is the most influential factor to the
value of Exp (B) 14,929, it means that employees who had received training had
an opportunity to be safetier in 14,929 times than the employees who did not
receive training.
. The Radiation safety prosedurs can be improved in RSUP H. Adam Malik
with trainings about protection and radiation safety to improve the worker's
knowledge and have better act to do radiation safety procedure. The other actions
by regularly socialize the SOP (standard operating procedure) about radiation
safety to all the staff in the Radiology Department.
