Based on the data of WHO in 2002, it was found that traffic accident was the main cause of death in the age-group of 15 to 19 with the death incidence of this age- group was 9.8 per 100,000 inhabitants. According to the Republic of Indonesia State Police of North Sumatera, Medan District in 2013, there were 9.41% of traffic accidents of students who rode motorcycles. One of the techniques of reducing the rate of traffic accidents and its effect, based on health paradigm, is through Safety Riding education. The objective of the research was to find out the correlation of the history of traffic accidents, sexes, and SIM (driver's license) C ownership with knowledge, attitude, and action of Grade XII High School students before Safety Riding education and the difference in their knowledge, attitude, and action in riding motorcycles before and after Safety Riding education in Medan The Research is done by quasi quantitative experiment with non-randomized control group pretest-posttest design. The population was all Grade XII High School students in Medan who could ride motorcycles and 30 of them from experiment and control groups respectively were used as the samples, taken by using purposive sampling technique. The result of the research, before Safety Riding education was in effect, showed that there was significant correlation of the history of traffic accidents with knowledge, attitude, and action (p = 0.020; 0.000; 0.002), there was no correlation of sex with knowledge, attitude, and action (p = 0.068; 0.223; 0. 7000), there was significant correlation ofSIA1 C ownership with knowledge and attitude (p -= 0.010; 0.022), and there was no significant correlation between SIM C ownership and action (p =0 0.052). There was the difference of the respondents' knowledge, attitude, and action in riding motorcycles before and after Safety Riding education was in effect in Medan (p = 0.000; 0.024; 0.003). It is recommended that collaboration between the Education Service and Traffic Police to implement Safety Riding education in High Schools in Medan so that High School students' knowledge, attitude, and action can be increased in riding motorcycles safely, and High School students who ride motorcycles required to have SIM C and apply Safety Riding in order to forestall traffic accident and its effect.en_US
