| dc.description.abstract | Carbon Monoxide (CO) is gasseous air pollutans, that odorless, colorless and tasteless which is mostly produced from motor vehicle emissions. Carbon monoxide gas poisoning can cause toxic health complaints that are harmful to health. This study aims to determine CO gas levels and subjective complaints of toxicity caused to traders who sell at the Amplas terminal in Medan. The type of research is an analytic survey with a cross-sectional study design. The research location is at the Amplas Terminal, Medan City. The population in this study are all traders who sell at the Amplas terminal with a sample of 53 people. Data analysis used chi square test and correlation test. The results showed that traders who experienced health complaints were 45 people (84,9%), the most common health complaints were headaches (79%), dizziness (79%) and weakness (79%). The variables of age (p=0.437), gender (p=0.715), working time in trading (p=0.922), years of service as a trader (p=0.824) were not related to health complaints. CO levels in the morning, afternoon and evening are not associated with health complaints. CO levels (p = 0.001) have a relationship with temperature in the afternoon and evening. CO levels (p=0.007) had a relationship with humidity in the morning and afternoon. Although CO levels are still below the quality standard, traders still feel health complaints, so it is hoped that traders to use Personal Protective Equipment such as masks when selling. | en_US |
