dc.description.abstractFITRA SISWANTO SINUHAJI: The Engineering of bamboo chopstick making equipment for small and medium enterprises, supervised by AINUN ROHANAH and LUKMAN ADLIN HARAHAP. Chopstick making equipment that already exist have an expensive selling price, therefore only a few people can buy them. Therefore, an innovation is needed to manufacture a cheaper equipment. This research conducted at the Laboratory of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, in July 2011 - September 2011. The aim of this research was to design, build and test the equipment. The result of the research showed that the effective capacity of the equipment was 248 chopsticks/hour with a broken of 20%.. While the basic costs to be incurred to make 1 chopstick is as much as Rp 20,35en_US
