dc.description.abstractBioethanol with raw material of cassava is the alternative in overcoming the rareness of unrenewable fuel availabality, that can give impact in every life’s sectors especially in transportation’s sector. Besides cassava is easy to get, the distilation process is also easy to do, so that it has fair prospect. This research was aimed to design, build and test the bioethanol distiller, conducted in January to March 2010 at the Laboratory of Agricultural Engineering Faculty of Agriculture University of North Sumatera, Medan. The parameters observed were the effective capacity and efficiency of the equipment; the level of alcohol, economy analysis, break event point and the feasibility study. The result of the research showed that the effective capacity was 195,84 ml/hour; the efficiency of equipment was 67,4%; the level of alcohol was 38,67% and this equipment was feasible.en_US
