| dc.description.abstract | Banana fiber wet-resistant properties and tensile strength is high enough,
depending on the type of plant itself. The characteristic, could be used making
rope that can be used for binding, pulling, trapping, tethering, hanging. The
research was aimed to test the quality of Barangan’s banana fiber rope with and
without NaOH solution on the rope tensile test.
Results of the research indicated that the straps are made from
Barangan’s banana stem with the same weight produces different diameters in
each treatment with and without 5% NaOH solution for 2 and 4 hours give tensile
stress, strain, deformation, elasticity and flexibility of different . The highest result
of tensile strength was on the rope fibers with long immersion treatment 5%
NaOH 4 hours is 340.5 x 105 N / m2. The highest result of strain was on the rope
fibers with the addition of 5% NaOH treatment for 4 hours of 0.19. The highest
result of deformation was on the rope fibers with the addition of 5% NaOH
treatment for 4 hours at 0.0158 m. The highest result of elasticity was on the
ropes with fiber without NaOH treatment at 2007 x 105 N / m2. And the highest
result of flexing was on the rope fiber flexibility with the addition of 5% NaOH
treatment of 4 hours at 19.62%. | en_US |
