The economic globalization developed by the principles of trade
liberalization or free trade has affected the law of each country involved in it.
Therefore, there is no way to reject but go along with it. During the course of their
development, the economic globalization and free trade keep developing through
international negotiation and agreement.
Indonesia with its open economy will surely be impacted by the principles of
global economy and trade liberalization because Indonesia's economy will deal with
the economy of other countries (lndonesia's business associates) in the forms of
export-import, direct or indirect investment, and loan. This economic impact
becomes the challenge in formulating national policy, world of economy, and the
economic practitioners. To cope with the condition impacting the Indonesian
economy/trade in all aspects including legal aspect, Indonesia should effectively
operate the law, especially investment law which contains policies to direct
investment activities.
For this purpose, it is essential to improve the quality of human resources. In
this context, the Indonesian police corp is one of the law upholding apparatuses that
execute the operation.
The function of the police is to maintain order and security, uphold law,
protect, guard, and serve the community. Therefore, the Indonesian police play an
important role in implementing an effective operation of the investment and trade
laws. This function automatically makes the human resources belong to the
Indonesian police have to be well prepared and understand all stipulation related to
the investment law.
