dc.description.abstractArabica Coffee Export Development Strategy in North Sumatra." This research was guided by Mr. Dr. Ir. Satia Negara Lubis, M.Ec as Chair of the Advisory Commission and Ms. Ir. Diana chalil, M.Si, Ph.D as a member of the Advisory Commission. The development of North Sumatra arabica coffee exports decreased due to the low level of efficiency of coffee farming in North Sumatra. In the effort to develop coffee exports apart from the subsystems that support agribusiness, many other factors must be considered in addition to the many opportunities and challenges faced. This shows that the opportunity to develop cultivation and export development is still very potential. This study aims to identify internal environmental factors that are the strengths and weaknesses of arabica coffee exporters in North Sumatra, identify external environmental factors that are opportunities and threats for arabica coffee exporters in North Sumatra, and formulate strategies that can be carried out by the company according to the conditions. Arabica coffee exporter company in North Sumatra. The research method uses SWOT analysis to analyze the development strategy of arabica coffee exports in North Sumatra. The results show that the internal factors that become strengths in arabica coffee exports are the physical condition and quality of arabica coffee, delivery time of Arabica coffee, the potential for exporters to reach importing countries, and the weakness in arabica coffee exports is the promotion of arabica coffee, the amount of capital owned by exporters, education on quality certificates. External factors that become opportunities in arabica coffee exports are permits to carry out export activities, permanent consumers who consume arabica coffee, crop failures in competitors exporting arabica coffee, selling prices of arabica coffee, demand for arabica coffee abroad, and which pose a threat in the domestic market. Arabica coffee exports, namely the determination of export tariffs, the role of the government, competitors from arabica coffee producing countries, climate influences. Alternative strategies in developing arabica coffee exports are maintaining regular consumers by providing good physical and quality coffee, utilizing permits to make it easier for exporters to reach importing countries, increasing capital by optimizing demand from consumers, permanent, increasing promotion by utilizing regular consumers, increasing the quantity and quality of arabica coffee, increasing cooperation with related institutions, increasing the role of government in supporting the implementation of promotions and access to capital assistance, and increasing capital to plan conferences with competing countries to increase the selling price of arabica coffee.en_US
