dc.description.abstractStudy of Rice Production Potential Irrigation Area in the Ular River District of Pegajahan Serdang Bedagai guided by SUMONO and SAIPUL BAHRI DAULAY. Serdang Bedagai as one granary areas in North Sumatra that have a source of irrigation water from the Ular River irrigation area, it needs to be studied to increase rice production. This study aims to assess the potential for rice production in the Ular River Irrigation Area Serdang Bedagai District of Pegajahan the maximum level of rice production, based on the level of solar radiation, the length of time the growth of rice plants, as well as varieties of rice planted. This study also examines the ratio between the technical irrigated land with semi-technical and simple and the reliability of the existing irrigation network. In the period 2009-2013 obtained results show that the reliability of the irrigation network is good enough. The average value of the ratio between technical irrigated land with semi-technical and simple is 0.78 which indicates that irrigation management is quite good and the achievement levels of rice production reached 59.86%.en_US
