dc.description.abstract | Study of Several Methods for Determining
Infiltration Rates in Soils, supervised by Prof. Dr. Ir. Sumono, MS
Inceptisol soil is a soil that is developed further with a low structure and
loose consistency, where limited water is one of the factors so that inceptisol soil
has not been widely used for agricultural land, so it is necessary to know the rate
of infiltration in inceptisol soil with several methods of determining the
infiltration rate. The purpose of this study was to calculate the infiltration of
inceptisol soil with several infiltration measurement methods, namely the Philips,
Kostiakov and Horton methods. This research was carried out in the Tridarma
Forest, University of North Sumatra, with three repeated measurements, from the
results obtained soil infiltration infiltration rate equation Philips (fp = 0.1 t -0.5 +
0.036), Kostiakov (fp = 0.16 t -0,3) and Horton (ft = 0.021+(0.112 ) e -0,01 t) and the
cumulative infiltration equation of Philips (F = 0.2 t 0.5+ 0.036 t), Kostiakov (F=
0.23 t0,69) and Horton (F= 0.105 + (11,2) (1-e-0.01t ). Horton's method is a more
suitable method than Philip and Kostiakov's method, judging from the smaller
standard deviation of each method, where Horton (0.14), Philip (0.33) and
Kostiakov (0.42). | en_US |
