The great number of chemical fertilizer used on crops can cause
environmental impacts, such as damage to soil structure. Organic materials in
compost can replace the role of chemical fertilizers and can improve the chemical
and biological condition of soil. To be efficient and effective, the compost should
be in the form of pellets. Discharge of nutrients in the pellet is longer than those
in chemical fertilizer so that no refertilization is needed. The pellet was formed by
using pellet molding equipment. The aim of this research was to design and to
make the equipment. Pellet compost was formed by pressing. The capacity of the
equipment was 32,78 kg/hour, with a 12,4 % failure.
