Palm tree is a plantation comodity that is profitable if produced in large
scale. At stem of plam tree there are palm leaf rib that can be used to make paper
and asbestos. This research was aimed to design, construction and examine of
palm leaf rib separator. This research was conducted in December 2015 until
February 2016 in the Laboratory of Agriculture Engineering, Faculty of
Agriculture, University of North Sumatra by literature study and observations of
palm leaf rib separator.
The result showed that the effective capacity was 1,118 kg/hour.
Percentage of defect at palm leaf rib separator was 11,41%. Main cost in the
first year was Rp 1.380,427/kg, Rp 1.388,385/kg fo the second year, Rp
1.396,938/kg for the third year, Rp 1.406,136 for the fourth year and Rp
1.416,015/kg for the fifth year. BEP in the palm leaf rib separator was 106,099 kg
for the first year, 111,825 for the second year, 117,978 for the third year, 124,596
for the fourth year and 131,703 for the fifth year. NPV at 7,5% was Rp
5.520.505,57/year and NPV trial at 9,5% was Rp 5.159.004,35/year | en_US |
