AHMAD RIFAI “Utilization of rice husk and tea wast as charcoal briquettes with
adhesive cane”. Supervised by LUKMAN ADLIN HARAHAP dan SULASTRI
PANGGABEAN.
Briquette is one of the biomass fuel. Briquette used as alternative energy
sources which are very simple and inexpensive. Biomass used in this research
were rice husk and waste tea. The aim of this research to find how Bio-Carbon
Briquette processing of rice husk and waste tea with variation in composition and
to determine the best Bio Carbon Briquette between rice husk and mixing of waste tea against of the quality briquette produced. Testing was conducted using
a non-factorial completely randomized disign with water content, density,
firmness press, calorific value, and ash content. The result of this research
showed that composition of the briquette materials highly significantly unaffected
the water content and highly significantly effected against density, firmness press,
calorific value, and ash content.
The average of water content in this research is 6,72% that meet Japane
standard. Amerika and Indonesia do not meet standard. of briquette made in
England. Density value is 0,68 gr/cm3 which meet standard of briquette made in
Japan and Amerika, but did not meet standard of briquette made in England and
Indonesia. Firmness press, calorific value, and ash content did not meet standard
of briquette made in Japan, Amerika, and Indonesia with an average value in
sequence are 1.71 kg/cm2
, 4400.97 kal/gr and 15.00%.
