Abstract

VAN DEDO PASARIBU: Design and construction ofscrew type oil pressequipment, supervised byAINUN ROHANAHandNAZIF ICHWAN. Compression process is an important step in candlenut oil production, which in this process will be produced candlenut oil through heating and pressingcandlenut. Utilization of candlenut oil today more and more, not only in the food industry but also in the cosmetic, paint, as well as fuels alternative. This studywas aimed to plan and builda screw mechanicaldeviceofcandlenut pressing. The study was conductedwith literature study, experiment, observationand testingof theequipment. The parametersmeasured werethe effective capacity ofthe equipment. The results showed thatthe effective capacity oftheoil presswas3,35kg/hour.
