Abstract

Research in Medan Perjuangan attempts to establish the extent of settlement development and its affect on the carrying capacity of communities. Documentation and observation are used to obtain data. A geographical analysis methodology is used to assist quantitative descriptive analysis methodologies. The descriptive analysis mainly depends on the findings of the first examination, the spatial overlay examination relies on the fundamental physical feature data to establish the land capacity categorization. In order to figure out how much land can be used before it runs out, you may apply the formula for residential land carrying capacity. The results of the interpretation of satellite images using images from 2008 and 2018 show that there has been a adaption in land use in the Medan Perjuangan Sub-District, namely 5.76 hectares of non-built land that has become a function of settlements and places of activity. This generate an expand in the number of settlements also places of activity to 451.74 hectares or 97.67% of the total land area.
