Biogas is a gas mixture of methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO2) and other gases obtained from the decomposition of organic matter (such as animal waste, human waste, and plants) by methanogenic bacteria. To produce biogas, the organic matter needed is accommodated in a biodigester. The process of decomposition of organic matter occurs anaerobically (without oxygen). Biogas can be produced from the fermentation of organic waste such as market waste, leaves, and animal waste from cows, pigs, goats, horses, or others, even human waste. The gas produced has different compositions depending on the type of animal that produces it.en_US
