    Abstract
    Stroke is a collection of symptoms of brain disorder that occurs due to disruption of blood circulation in the brain. A stroke can cause malfunction of the body, it affects the life of biological, social, economic, spiritual and psychological that can cause stress. Unhealthy lifestyle also makes a person at risk of stroke. In addition to eating foods high in cholesterol and lack of exercise, smoking, and drinking alcohol increases the risk of stroke, due to the illness of stroke patients become dependent on others in performing activities of daily life, it can affect the quality of life they have. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between stress and lifestyle and quality of life in stroke patients. Samples were 85 stroke patients were taken by purposive sampling. Instruments used demographic data questionnaire, stress, lifestyle and quality of life of stroke patients. Test the hypothesis by using Spearman Rank. Based on the results of the study, found that the majority of stroke patients stress severe stress category (58.8%), lifestyle of the majority of stroke patients do not either (68.2%) and for the quality of life of stroke patients are not good (63.5%). Stroke patients who have 0,023 times more at risk of stress-related quality of life and stroke patients who have a lifestyle more risky 0.087 times related quality of life. The dominant variable related to the quality of life of stroke patients is a lifestyle with OR = 0.087. There is a relationship of stress and lifestyle and quality of life, less stress and lifestyle both the quality of life of stroke patients is not good. Recommended to the hospital to be able to provide training to nurses poly inpatient neurology and stroke associated with the provision of counseling, so that nurses are able to identify stress and lifestyle, as well as the nurse is able to provide social support related to the quality of life of patients.
