The aimed of this research is to know diversity and abundance of
periphyton, to know the primary productivity of periphyton and to know the
relationship of the physics, chemistry and biology aquatic parameters of the
primary productivity periphyton in the River Naborsahan. Water quality
parameters measured were temperature, current, brightness, potential of
Hydrogen (pH), dissolved oxygen (DO), nitrite, nitrate, ammonia, orthophosphate
and abundance of periphyton. The observations were made four times in two the
research station. Sample taking carried is three time repetition on each station.
Regression analysis used to know the relationship of periphyton primary
productivity with environmental factors (physics, chemistry and biology).
Based on the result obtained the periphyton diversity ranged from 2.903 to
2.971, the abundance of periphyton ranged from 79.02 to 329.76 ind/cm2,
periphyton primary productivity value ranged from 57.140 to 571.405
mgC/m3/day. Regression analysis showed that at station 1, pH and DO give a
greater influences on periphyton primary productivity with coefficient of
determination (R2) value is 0.984, while nitrate and orthophosphate give a lowest
influences on periphyton primary productivity with R2 value is 0.753. While on
station 2, pH and DO give a greater influences on periphyton primary
productivity with R2 value is 0.994, while temperature and current give a lowest
influences on periphyton primary productivity with R2 value is 0.594.
