Percut estuary Sei Tuan has a length of 3,820 meters, is influenced by the
ebb and the flow of ships, boats and there are a haven tourist activity.
Macrozoobenthos diversity and the measurement of physical and chemical factors
is one of the parameters used to determine changes in water quality in the estuary
Percut Sei Tuan. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical and
chemical waters in relation to water quality standards under PP 82 of 2001 with
Storet method as well as the density and diversity of macrozoobenthos. This
research was conducted over two months, from March to April 2016 in the waters
of the estuary Percut Sei Tuan District of Deli Serdang. Based on the results
obtained correlation between the physical and chemical waters of the estuary
Percut Sei Tuan included into class C with the condition of polluted waters
Medium and included into class III, water allocation can be used for the
infrastructure of water recreation, the activities of pond fisheries, water to irrigate
the crops or another designation similar to the usefulness and value of diversity
index (H ') macrozoobenthos obtained at each station research that ranged from
1.375 to 2.050. These results indicate that the diversity of macrozoobenthos is
low. Pearson correlation analysis results showed that the temperature, salinity and
pH as very strong, BOD5 classified as moderate, and light penetration is low DO
and COD relatively very low.
