Mangrove forest ecosystem is a type of forest that are mostly located along the
coast or a river that survival is affected by the tide. ecosystems mangrove in hamlet II of
sembilan island has long used surrounding peoples for land aquaculture and for firewood.
This research aims to determine the structure and composition of mangrove vegetation,
water conditions, soil pH conditions along the substrate. This study was conducted in
March 2016 to May 2016. The study was conducted with a purposive random sampling
method by means of mangrove vegetation observation and measurement of water quality
parameters, substrates and soil pH. Mangrove species found at the study site as many as 27
species of the A. ebracteus, A. ilicifolius A. aureum, A. cornilatum, A. floridum, A. alba,
A. lanata, A.marina, A. officinalis, B. cylindrica, B. gymnorhyza, C.
decandra, C.tagal, E. agallocha, L. littorea, L. racemosa, N. Fruticans, R.
apiculata, R. stylosa, R. mucronata, S. hidrophidacae, S. portucastrum, S. alba, S.
caseolaris, S. ovata, X. granatum, X. mollucensis. Based on ministerial decree of living
environment No. 201 In 2004, the density of mangrove in Hamlet II of Sembilan Island
Village included in the category of very dense (both categories). Mangrove substrate types
in the study site is loam, clay, sandy clay loam clayey and sandy clay.
