D HUSIN HUTABARAT, 2014: “Utilization Of Fermented Palm Frond With Various Biomol+ Level In The Feed To a Local Male Sheep Carcass". Supervised by ARMYN HAKIM DAULAY and TRI HESTI WAHYUNI. This study aimed to examine the effect utilization of fermented palm frond with various Biomol+ level in the feed to a local male sheep carcass. The experiment was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Biology, Animal Husbandry Program Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara in December through March 2014 using 12 weaning local male sheep with an average initial weight of 7.14 ± 0,6 kg. The design used in the study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications and further tested by least significant difference (LSD). Treatment consists of P0: fermentation without Biomol+, P1: fermentation with 5% Biomol+, P2: frond fermentation with 10% Biomol+, P3: fermentation with 15% Biomol+. The parameters studied were empty body weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, subcutaneous fat, kidney fat, pelvic fat, heart fat. The results showed the average empty weight (kg) P0: 6,6, P1: 6,67, P2: 7,31, and P3: 10,11. The average carcass weight (kg) P0: 2,43, P1: 2,54, P2: 2,81, and P3: 3,93. Mean percentage of carcass (%) P0: 36,85, P1: 38,05, P2: 38,46, and P3: 38,74. Average subcutaneous fat percentage (%) P0: 4,52, P1: 2,83, P2: 1,88 dan P3: 2,05. Average pelvic fat percentage (%) P0: 0,15, P1: 0,16, P2: 0,14, dan P3: 0,11. Average kidney fat percentage (%) P0: 1,44, P1: 1,19, P2: 1,27, dan P3: 0,88. Average heart fat percentage (%) P0: 0,70, P1: 0,67, P2: 0,56 dan P3: 0,46. Statistical analysis showed utilization of fermented palm frond with various biomol+ level in the feed very significant effect on of empty body weight, carcass weight, significant effect on average subcutaneous fat percentage and no significant effect on carcass percentage, average pelvic fat pecentage, average kidney fat percentage, and average heart fat percentage. The conclusion of this study is utilization of fermented palm frond with various biomol+ level in the feed very significant effect on raise the empty body weight and carcass weight, significant effect on average subcutaneous fat percentage but no significant effect on carcass percentage, average pelvic fat percentage, average kidney fat percentage, and average heart fat percentage Local male sheep.en_US
