dc.description.abstractOver utilization of mangrove ecosystems over utilization was predicted causes waters contamination by heavy metals. Heavy metals are produced from domestic waste disposal, industry, oil wastewater disposal into the waters and waste disposal ponds that exist around the mangrove ecosystem and disposal oil. The purpose of this research is to know the ability of A. marina in accumulating heavy metal and to analyze the content of heavy metal Plumbum (Pb) on roots, barks, and leaves of mangrove A. marina. This research was conducted in Nipah’s Mangrove, Sei Nagalawan Village, Serdang Bedagai North Sumatera. The analysis of using heavy metals is conducted in research centre and industrial standardization, Medan by using the Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy method. The result of this research showed that the highest content of heavy metal in the roots, barks and leaves are 0,05 mg/kg , 0,06 mg/kg and 0,005 mg/kg, respectively. Therefore the ability of A. marina in accumulating heavy metal Pb as classified very low.en_US
