dc.description.abstract | This study aims to obtain superior commodities, land characteristics in
Pining District and directions for land use for the development of agricultural
commodities in Pining District. The method used is a survey method which has
previously been carried out with the Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift Share
equations so that 2 superior commodities are obtained, namely cocoa and coconut.
The characteristics for each land map unit from the results of the overlay become
the basis for further analysis to match the growing conditions for each of these
leading commodities. From the results of overlaying soil type maps, slope maps,
rainfall maps and elevation maps, 5 Land Map Units (SPL) were obtained. SPL 1
with an area of 426.5 Ha, SPL 2 318.61 Ha, SPL 3 293.41 Ha, SPL 4 270.58 Ha
and SPL 5 with an area of 200.11 Ha. Cocoa commodity has potential land
suitability class S2 (fairly suitable) with limiting factors of temperature (t1),
annual rainfall (w1), base saturation (nr2), pH H2O (nr3), and slope (eh1).
Meanwhile, coconut commodity has a potential land suitability class of S2 (quite
suitable) with limiting factors of temperature (t1), rainfall (w1), base saturation
(nr2), pH H2O (nr3), drainage (oa1) and texture (rc1). Furthermore, the direction
of land use for the development of agricultural commodities is cocoa with an area
of 1,314.25 Ha and coconut with an area of 1,489.11 Ha. | en_US |
