Mirna Angelina Turnip, “The Effectiveness of Kairomone and Number of Trap on Insect Pollinators Population Elaeidobius kamerunicus Faust (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) in Marihat plantation PTPN IV, Pematang Siantar” Supervised by Maryani Cyccu Tobing dan Syahrial Oemry. Weevil, E. kamerunicus is a main and effective pollinator in oil palm plantation. This research was to study the effectiveness concentration kairomone and number of trap in calculating the population of E. kamerunicus in plantation of Marihat PTPN IV, Pematang Siantar. This research was conducted at Center of Oil Palm Research, Marihat, Pematang Siantar and collaboration with PTPN IV. The method used Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors and four replications. The first factor was number of trap (1 and 2 trap/ha) and the second factor was concentration of kairomone (control, 0,5, 1,0 and 1,5 ml).
The results showed that the treatment concentrations of kairomone synthetic significant effect to the number of E. kamerunicus males and females. The efficiency of treatment synthetic kairomone with number of trap 2 peaces and concentration of kairomone 1,0 ml was 1,1967% which found male flowers of oil palm was 8,69 bunches/ha and female flowers was 5,94 bunches/ha. This calculation showed that if we trapped E. kamerunicus by number of trap 2 peaces and concentration of kairomone 1,0 ml was 731,75 adults/ha, than we could estimate that the density was 61147,32 adults/ha.
