dc.description.abstractThis research is entitled Generation Z Addiction Levels in the Use of Social Media in Binjai City. This study aims to measure the level of addiction in the use of social media in Binjai City. The research method used in this research is descriptive quantitative with the research design in the form of a survey. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The sample size used is 100, with an error rate of 10% using the Taro Yamane formula. The research instrument uses the category of addiction level of Alvara users and 6 need fulfillment scales, namely competence, relatedness, security, pleasure, self-esteem and popularity. The results of this study indicate that generation z in Binjai City is in the category of social media addiction based on the data obtained as many as 56% of respondents access social media more than 7 hours a day and from 6 need fulfillment scales found 3 of them indicate if generation z in Binjai City indicated addiction to social media. To these needs fulfillment are competence, relatedness and securityen_US
