Expired liquid milk waste is waste that has not been considered optimally managed. The management of expired liquid milk waste can be reduced by utilizing black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) as a feed medium for BSF larvae. This is done because BSF larvae are able to decompose waste effectively and on the other hand BSF larvae can be used as animal feed media. The purpose of this study is toanalyze the potential for waste reduction, analyze the effective feeding rate of BSF larvae, andanalyze the proximate test value of BSF larvae. This study was conducted experimentally for 21 days with a larva count of 100 heads per biopond using expired liquid chocolate milk. The results showed the percentage of reduction rates based on treatment 1 to treatment 8 in this study was 90%; 86.94%; 86.94% ; 84.84%; 81.90%; 74.97%; 84.84% and 74.97%. In addition, an effective feeding rate was obtained in treatment 2, namely treatment with expired chocolate liquid milk waste of 1500 ml which obtained the highest survival rate (SR) value of 95%. The results of the proximate test analysis of BSF larval moisture content with the highest percentage results starting from P7, namely 70.57%, P4 by 70.54%, P8 by 66.91%, P2 by 66.13%, P5 by 64.81%, P6 by 64.63%, P3 by 53.32%, and P1 by 52.29%. The highest BSF larval protein content test started from P3 at 13.12%, P2 at 13.02%, P1 at 12.09%, P7 at 10.57%, P4 at 10.12%, P5 at 9.31%, P6 at 8.87%, and P8 at 8.64%. The highest BSF larval fat content test started from P2 at 39.55%, P1 at 39.39%, P5 at 38.06%, P7 at 37.94%, P8 at 37.52%, P6 at 33.23%, P4 at 32.03%, and the lowest fat content at P3 at 31.16%. Based on observations in this study, BSF larvae can develop and reduce waste properly using expired liquid chocolate milk waste media based on the treatment that has been determined in this study.en_US
