dc.description.abstract | Siombak Lake is an artificial lake formed as a result of sand dredging
activities in an area formerly known as Paya Pasir and the lake is also influenced
by the ups and downs because of the location of the lake is not far from the coastal
region. The diversity of macrozoobenthic and measurement of physical and
chemical factors is one of the parameters used to determine changes in water
quality in the waters of Siombak Lake. The purpose of this study was to determine
the physical and chemical factors in the waters of Siombak Lake in conjunction
with water quality standards under PP 82 of 2001 and Storet methods as well as
the density and diversity of macrozoobenthic. This study was conducted for three
months that started from May to July 2014 in the waters of Siombak Lake District
of Medan Marelan in Medan City. Based on the results obtained, the relationship
between chemical physical factors Siombak Lake waters with water quality
standards under PP 82 of 2001 and Storet method states that the waters of
Siombak Lake belong to the class of the class C with the condition of being
contaminated waters and value diversity index (H') of macrozoobenthic were
obtained at each station study ranged from 1,091 to 1,480. These results indicate
that the condition of the waters of Siombak Lake have a low diversity of
macrozoobenthic. The results of Pearson correlation analysis showed that
temperature, COD, phosphate, light penetration, pH and BOD5 have a positive
correlation or have a direct relationship with the diversity of macrozoobenthic
while salinity, DO and nitrate have a negative correlation, or have the opposite
relationship. | en_US |
