The activity of residents in the village of Belawan II in need of large amounts of
water in general by making use of the well drill in order to fulfill the needs of
water are necessary. Drill wells are the main source of water supply for the
population living in rural and urban areas of Indonesia. The purpose of the
research is the analysis of salinity water well drill, an analysis influence of the
depth of the well against the intrusion of sea water and analytical overview of the
distribution of salinity in the drill well. The research was conducted in the month
of May-June 2013. The research was conducted in the village Belawan II , Sub
District Medan Belawan, Province North Sumatra. This research uses the software
ArcView GIS 3.3 to obtain a map of the spread of salinity. The results showed
that the salinity of the water wells drilled in the Village of Belawan II varied.
Number of wells drill included in the good classification (333mg / l) at 4%, is
permitted (666-1333 mg / l) by 27%, doubtful at (1666-2000 mg / l) by 46% and
dangerous (2333-3000mg / l ) at 24%. Types of fresh water by 4%, moderate by
27% and brackish water by 69%. Drill well at the depth of 65-100 meters
included in the classification of dangerous 47 wells, dubious 36 wells, allowed as
much as 2 wells and good there is no. Drill well at the depth of >100 meters
included in the classification of dangerous there is no, dubious 18 wells, allowed
88 wells and good 7 wells. This matter show that water sumur bor already
happening intrusion and having the quality of water for raw materials miscreated
drinking water. The state of settlements, the extremely dirty and there are garbage
around the house this can affect the condition the drill well water the population.
