dc.description.abstractMARTINUS SIJABAT: Design of Peeling Coconut Fiber, supervised byACHWIL PUTRA MUNIR and LUKMAN ADLIN HARAHAP. At this time, peeling coconut fiber still done manually, that has lack such as the operator who peels fiber must has high experience, has high accuracy and limited work capacity Therefore the writer made a coconut fiber peeling. This research was done in March until May 2012 in Agricultural Engineering Laboratory, Agricultural Faculty, University of North Sumatera, Medan, by literature study, equipment manufacture, equipment testing and observations of the parameter. The parameter observed were the equipment capacity, economics analysis, break event point and the feasibility study using value of internal rate of return and net present value. The capacity of the equipment was 503,778 fruit/hour, Ecoomics analysis was Rp. 33,22/fruit, break event point was 205.781,12 fruit/year, internal rate of return was 47,18 %and this equipment was feasibleen_US
