dc.description.abstractFire events can occur anywhere and anytime. Precautions are things that are needed to avoid, overcome and minimize the occurrence of fires. This study aims to design and build a sensor-based smoke and fire detection system, and IoT that can be used to assess the presence of fire hazard capabilities using solar power sources. The research methods in designing this system refer to the direct application model. The components used include fire sensors, namely flame sensors, smoke and gas sensors, namely MQ2 sensors, microcontrollers, namely Arduino Uno, LEDs, and mini motor sirens, which are connected to the Blynk IoT platform. When the device is turned on, the system will initialize the input and output on the device. Then, the flame sensor will work according to its function to check if there is a fire as well as the mq2 sensor which will check if there is smoke. The results are in the form of a mq2 sensor experiment that detects gas values from 1950 ppm to 2750 ppm, an experiment with a flame sensor that is only able to detect fire from a distance of 100 cm to 250 cm, and overall tests that have been carried out are running well. This tool can be used to help identify and prevent the occurrence-impact of a fire. However, the mq2 sensor used is too susceptible to damage if used continuously. So, the mq2 sensor can be changed to a sensor that has a higher sensitivity.en_US
