| dc.description.abstract | This paper aims to describe the types of moral values and find out the dominant
type contained in the lyrics of Imagine Dragons' selected songs. In this paper, the
writer uses the theory of moral values by Tony Buzan in the journal Types of
Moral Values in an Indonesian Children's Movie by Syamaun et al. The data of
this research are the song lyrics in five selected songs which are sourced from
Imagine Dragons songs entitled Believer, Bad Liar, Thunder, Demons, and
Whatever It Takes. In writing this paper, the writer used qualitative descriptive
method. The results showed that the lyrics of the five songs have six types of
moral values, such as bravery, honesty, steadfastness, sympathetic to others,
sincerity, and kind-hearted. The lyrics also showed five contrast types of moral
values, such as cowardice, haughtiness, deceit, cold hearted, and heartless. From
some of these moral values, it is found that the value of steadfastness is the
