dc.description.abstract | This paper describes the moral values in William Shakespeare’s selected poems, specifically the sonnet. This paper aims to find out the moral values and the significance of these moral values in life portrayed in William Shakespeare’s poems. In writing this paper, the method used is descriptive qualitative. This paper uses the theory of Hornby, which explains the types of moral values. The source of research data in this paper is poems by William Shakespeare which consists of three poems entitled Sonnet 104, Sonnet 106, Sonnet 116, Sonnet 123 and Sonnet 124. The technique used to describes the data in this paper there are several steps, such as: (1) reading the three of William Shakespeare’s selected poems, (2) understanding the content of William Shakespeare’s selected poems, (3) describing the moral values and the significance of the moral values in life portrayed in William Shakespeare’s selected poems.
